I need to tell you something embarrassing.
When I proposed to my wife Jennifer, I didn't buy a ring. I didn't ask her parents. I didn't plan a special moment.
In my defense – I'm German (and a nerd). And in Germany, the whole production around proposals isn't really a thing.
So one night at dinner, while Jennifer was standing at the stove draining pasta – rubber gloves on, steam in her face – I casually said, "So... I think we should get married."
She turned around, looking me dead in the face and said, "Wait – where's the engagement ring?"
"We don't really do that in Germany."
"Babe. You're not in Germany anymore."
To this day, whenever I have something important to share, she laughs saying: "Hold on – let me get my rubber gloves." Lucky for me, she said “yes” and we still laugh about my awkward proposal.

I tell you this because I see practitioners make a version of this mistake all the time.
They have something meaningful to offer, really a life-changing partnership where they can change someone’s life. Expertise that could genuinely help people.
But when they approach people who really need their help, they skip the part that matters most.
They lead with the clinical, the science, and the protocols.
And they forget that before anyone cares about what you know – they need to feel like you get them and you care about them.
It's the moment where your patient reads your words and thinks: "Wow. This person understands what I'm going through and they see me."
Not because you explained the mechanism. But because you named their reality. Their frustration. Their fear. The weight they've been carrying.
That's what creates connection. That's what builds trust.
And in a world flooded with AI-generated clinical content – that emotional specificity is the thing that cuts through.
Most practitioners skip it. Not because they don't care. But because – like me at that stove – they're operating from their own framework (nerdy, amazing clinicians!).
But your patients aren't in Germany.
They need the ring.
They need to feel seen before they'll trust your science.
Here's the thing: this shift isn't optional anymore.

Welcome to Content Shock 2.0 – where inboxes, feeds, and search engines are flooded with helpful, high-quality content... and almost none of it gets remembered.
AI made it easy for everyone to crank out a "pretty good" post in seconds. Which means good content is now table stakes.
If your content doesn't emotionally resonate... if it doesn't challenge old beliefs or share a lived experience... if it doesn't sound unmistakably like you... it fades into the noise. No matter how valuable it is.
The real cost isn't just wasted effort.
It's the emotional weight of feeling like you're doing everything "right" but getting little in return. It's missing out on patients who were ready – but couldn't feel the difference between you and everyone else.
That's why I'm hosting a free training this week...

Oh – and about those rubber gloves...
I did eventually get Jennifer a ring. A nice one.
Some lessons take a minute to land.
